Lyme Disease Treatment - Snell's Envita Review
When Snell was trying hard to find treatment options for his son Slater's rare autoimmune disorder, called Evans syndrome, he did not imagine that Slater would need treatment for a tickborne infection called Lyme disease. “Lyme disease is triggering the immune response, which is creating the Evans Syndrome,” said Snell Johnson, who came from Hawaii to seek treatment for his son at Envita Medical Centers, a center of excellence for Lyme disease treatment, in Scottsdale, Arizona.

History of Rare Diagnoses
At the age of 4, Slater was diagnosed with another rare condition called Kawasaki disease, which is why his father mentioned about it to Slater's doctors when his platelet count suddenly dropped down to a drastically low level of 5,000 platelets per microliter (mcL), at the age of 16. He was then diagnosed with Evans Syndrome, a rare autoimmune condition in which your immune system perceives your platelets and RBCs (Red Blood Cells) as invaders and attacks them, in turn putting your life in danger. With a rare diagnosis, like Evans Syndrome, Snell found it difficult to identify doctors who would be able to take up his son's case and treat him.
Proprietary Diagnostics and Treatments to Attack Disease Core
At Envita Medical Centers, our proprietary tests and detailed genomic analysis are designed to not only find the root cause of your problems, but it also identifies accompanying infections and coinfections, which could impact your immune system and lead to autoimmune disorders. The doctors reviewed Slater's reports and found that he had a high infection load of Lyme disease, and treating the infection and its associated co-infections was crucial to facilitate his Evans Syndrome treatment, which included increasing his platelet count and enabling its stabilization at the normal range of 250,000 platelets per microliter (mcL).
Envita's proprietary treatments like IRAD (Insulin Receptor Antibiotic Delivery), proved beneficial for Slater, who started experiencing improvements in symptoms. IRAD helps shuttle antibiotics and other personalized medications across the blood-brain barrier to impact the lurking pathogens that cause Lyme disease and its associated coinfections. In Slater's case, treatment for Lyme disease was crucial to pave the way for a successful recovery from Evans Syndrome.
His Envita Connection
When Snell was feeling helpless in his search for the right doctor for his son, one of his business clients mentioned that he should try seeking care at Envita Medical Centers because they had heard about our expertise in personalized precision medicine. Snell's client's husband knew one of our doctors and was aware of our clinical experience in dealing with complex chronic diseases.
Our doctors treated him for Lyme disease and referred him to an immunologist so they could tag team his treatments. They aimed towards boosting his platelet count, attacking his Lyme disease, and reactivating his immune system. Impressed with the synergistic coordination of the doctors and his son's response to treatments at Envita, Snell said, “They really understand this in a way that... most medical people won't address things.” He hopes that other patients should also find an opportunity to address their autoimmune conditions, as he added, “Come here, get tested, and see what's going on and try to fix yourself, because you can fix autoimmune. It's not a death sentence so you can fix it.”
